The 'Confession Series' looks at the marks and inscriptions we etch into trees to eternalise moments we don’t want forgotten. Moulds of the inscriptions are made of the tree and then casted in jesmonite in the studio.
It’s instinctive for humans to want to leave their mark in the world and not be forgotten. A tree that stands tall, a symbol of stability and wisdom, is often the perfect place for our mark to exist as we imagine it will continue to stand there for long after we’re gone.
